Dipity Privacy Policy

Effective Date: August 12, 2026

1. Commitment to Privacy

Grooply LLC ("Dipity," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information of our users. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have regarding your data. By using the Dipity mobile app or website (collectively, the "App"), you consent to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you voluntarily provide and certain data automatically generated through your use of the App.

Information You Provide

Mobile Number: account verification, event notifications, group communications.

Email Address: login, account recovery, important updates.

Full Name: identification within groups and events.

Profile Picture (optional): profile personalization, social interactions.

Gender (optional): profile personalization and recommendations.

Birthday (optional): personalized reminders within your groups.

Home City (optional): event and place recommendations.

Location Sharing (optional): nearby event and venue discovery.

Interested Categories (optional): improved event recommendations and Home feed.

User-Generated Content: invites, polls, messages, and photos shared within your groups or events.

Group and Community Activity: the Groups you create, join, administer, or follow (e.g., run clubs, hobby clubs), whether they are public or private, and Events and posts you submit to a Group's feed or to Dipity's public discovery feed.

Reports and Moderation Records: if you submit a report about a User, Group, Event, or piece of Content, or if a report is submitted about you, we collect the content of that report, the identities of the parties involved, and the outcome of our review.

Connected Social Media Accounts and Content

If a Business, Organizer, or other authorized person chooses to connect a supported social-media account, including an Instagram Business or Creator account, we may collect and process limited account information needed to display or maintain the connection, such as the account's username, account or profile identifiers, connection status, and linked-page information where made available. Connecting an account to display a profile link does not by itself authorize automated collection of posts, captions, media, or related data.

Automated Content Ingestion Is Optional

If the authorized person separately opts in through the App to automated content ingestion for a Connected Account, we may collect and process access credentials or tokens, media identifiers, post dates and times, captions, image or video URLs, images or videos, and webhook or polling information used to detect new posts. We may also create or receive information derived from this content, including potential Event details. This opt-in is optional and is separate from connecting or displaying a profile link.

Information Collected Automatically

Device Information: device type, OS version, app performance metrics.

Usage Data: anonymous analytics such as clicks, impressions, event views, and engagement rates.

Location Data (if enabled): approximate location for nearby events or venues.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to operate and improve Dipity, including:

Account Authentication: secure verification codes via SMS or email.

Event & Group Notifications: invitations, RSVPs, reminders.

Personalization: curating recommendations based on your preferences and activity.

Analytics & Performance: understanding usage trends and improving the App.

Business Insights: aggregated, non-identifiable engagement metrics for participating businesses.

Communications: important notices, updates, or service messages.

Trust and Safety: reviewing reports, moderating Groups/Events/Content, enforcing our Terms of Service, and preventing abuse.

Connected Account and Event-Ingestion Features: when an authorized person has separately opted in to automated content ingestion, verifying and maintaining the authorized social-media account connection; detecting and retrieving posts from that account; processing its media and captions to identify potential Event information; creating, reviewing, displaying, and improving Event listings; and maintaining the security and integrity of these features. We do not sell Connected Account Content or use it for unrelated advertising.

User Visibility and Discoverability

Your profile information, including your name and profile picture, may be visible to other users to enable social features such as invites, group coordination, and user search. If you create or join a public Group, or post to a public feed, that Content (and your association with it) may be visible to other members of that Group or, for public Groups and feeds, to other users of the App more broadly. Private Groups are visible only to their members. You may control your discoverability and certain visibility settings through your account settings, where available.

4. Public Event, Business, and Connected-Account Information

Dipity may display publicly available event and venue data (such as event name, time, and location) to populate the discovery feed. We may also obtain event and business information from Businesses or Organizers who connect an authorized social-media account, and through content made available by supported social-media platforms through their authorized APIs. This may include posts, captions, media, related metadata, and Event information derived from that content. We do not sell or redistribute this information. If you are a business owner or event organizer and wish to correct or remove your listing, contact us at johnny@grooply.app.

Images displayed within Dipity may come from Dipity staff or authorized contributors under signed IP release agreements; licensed royalty-free sources with proper attribution; Businesses that submit images directly or connect an authorized social-media account for use on their profiles or Event listings; Users, including as part of a public Group's Event; or supported social-media platforms through an authorized account connection. Businesses and Users are each responsible for ensuring they have the rights and authority to any images or other Content they upload, submit, or make available through a Connected Account.

5. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share limited data only with trusted service providers that help us operate Dipity, for example:

Firebase / Google Analytics: anonymous app usage analytics.

Mixpanel: product analytics and usage insights.

Twilio (or equivalent): SMS verification and communication.

Meta / Instagram: when you choose to connect a supported account, to establish and maintain the authorized connection and obtain data made available through Meta's authorized APIs.

Supabase or equivalent cloud infrastructure providers: database, server, and storage services used to operate the App.

Google Gemini or other AI service providers used by Dipity: processing images, captions, and related Content to identify or categorize potential Event information.

Each provider processes data according to its own privacy policy, and we only share the minimum data necessary for their services. Dipity does not currently offer paid features and does not collect or process payment information; if that changes, this Policy will be updated to name the payment processor(s) used.

6. Law Enforcement and Government Requests

Dipity may receive requests from law enforcement or other government authorities for a user's personal information or personal data. We review each such request to confirm it has a valid legal basis before responding, and where a request appears unlawful, overbroad, or improperly issued, we will challenge it or seek to narrow its scope before complying. When we do respond, we disclose only the minimum information necessary to satisfy the specific request. We maintain records of the requests we receive, our responses, and the legal reasoning and personnel involved in each determination. Nothing in this section prevents Dipity from complying with a valid emergency disclosure request where required by law.

7. Data Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and access controls. We implement technical and organizational measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration of your information. We limit access to Connected Account credentials or tokens to personnel and service providers with a legitimate need to operate and secure the integration. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. User Content and Connected Account Content

You retain ownership of the content you create within the App (such as invites, polls, chats, and photos). By posting or sharing such content, you grant Dipity a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, display, and transmit it within the App's functionality. If you connect a social-media account, the Terms of Service describe the limited license you grant Dipity to access and process content made available through that connection. You may manage or request deletion of your content by contacting johnny@grooply.app. Some in-app content, such as group messages or polls, may not yet include user-facing deletion tools but can be removed upon verified request.

9. Data Retention, Disconnection, and Deletion

We retain personal information, Connected Account Content, and derived Event information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and secure the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain necessary business and moderation records. Access credentials or tokens are retained only while needed to maintain an authorized connection, subject to security and operational requirements. Media, captions, and Event information may be retained after a Connected Account is disconnected when they have already been incorporated into an Event listing, shared with other users, are needed for legal, safety, or moderation purposes, or must otherwise be retained under this Policy.

You may disconnect a supported social-media account through the available App controls or revoke Dipity's authorization through the relevant social-media platform. You may also turn off automated content ingestion for a Connected Account through the available App controls while keeping a profile link connected, where that option is available. Turning off automated content ingestion or disconnecting the account stops future collection of posts, captions, media, and related data from that account. To request deletion of information received from a connected Meta or Instagram account, contact johnny@grooply.app with the account identifier and the email address associated with the request. We will verify the request and delete information as required by applicable law and our retention obligations. Dipity will maintain publicly accessible instructions for Meta-originated data-deletion requests as required for supported Meta integrations.

10. Opting Out and Data Control

SMS Messages: reply STOP to any text to stop receiving SMS notifications.

Location Sharing: disable location access in your device settings.

Account Deletion: delete your account and associated data directly from the App's profile settings, or by contacting johnny@grooply.app.

Connected Accounts: you may choose whether to opt in to automated content ingestion for a connected account. You may turn it off through the available App controls while keeping a profile link connected, where that option is available; disconnect the account; revoke Dipity's access through the applicable social-media platform; or request deletion as described in Section 9.

Analytics: disable certain analytics tracking through your device settings.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction or deletion of that information; opt out of certain processing; and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact johnny@grooply.app or use the applicable controls in the App. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law.

12. Age and Eligibility

You must be 13 years or older to use Dipity. If you are under 18, you should use the App only with parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

13. AI and Personalization

Some features may use algorithmic or AI-based systems to recommend events, assist with planning, or analyze images, captions, and related Content from an authorized Connected Account to identify or categorize potential Event information ("AI Agents"). These systems do not make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you. You may turn off personalized recommendations in your preferences. Where an AI-assisted process proposes Event information, Dipity may use review or other quality controls before information is published, where available.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Significant changes will be communicated via the App or email before taking effect. The "Effective Date" above reflects the latest version.
